How FAR Can You Go?
Monday Jul 03, 2023
Monday Jul 03, 2023
What a privilege it was talking to Junie and sharing in her deliberate quest of understanding people and culture that has led her to where she is today.
Junie has always believed that if you understand the systems in which you live in and how they dictate what you’ll benefit from or miss out on, then you can design and imagine endless solutions to your wildest dreams.
And, wild dreams she has lived, to say the least: ranked in the top 50 employees in banking in Canada, liaised with public relations and media in India to raise awareness for mining workers’ rights and micro-businesses led by women in India, taught English to speakers of other languages in México and China, and co-designed health programs in remote and rural communities in the Northern Territory (Australia).
Listen in as we talk about her Ironman quests, and how now, she has broken into the tech industry (as a non-tech) by tapping into her entrepreneurial spirit to start seeing better representation in product design. Junie has a wild goal to remove biases in the design of products and technology and she shares her personal beliefs about 'fear' and 'daring to try'. Remember to keep moving forward when yiu think you're not!

Unlock The Story That Shines
Thursday Jun 22, 2023
Thursday Jun 22, 2023
Who do you know that has journeyed to 45 different countries? I admit to feeling just a touch envious! Our guest this episode is Alex Blake, an international best selling author, editor, intuitive coach and mentor, entrepreneur and mum of two lads.
Alex is all about the journey and travelling is an incredible gateway to exploring not only a different culture but also yourself - your values, beliefs and assumptions that either block us or spur us on to becoming more than we are at this moment in time.
Listeners, you will thoroughly enjoy how Alex has mined diamonds, managed multi-million-dollar construction projects during a 25-year career as a mining engineer, trekked Mount Kilimanjaro, and edited 17 bestselling books – yet her greatest achievements may be surmounting the challenges of parenting. Alex shares her truth, her vulnerabilites and her curosity mindset that has enabled her to unlock stories that shine.
Listen in as we discuss the increbible power of self awareness to take charge
of your own destiny and live the life you love. Alex believes that everything is a choice - that 'truth' can be revealing, confronting and exhilarating, and by using your intuition to reveal the truth in your heart you are able to DO THAT THING you deeply desire. "Truth provides you freedom to be who you are, to share your gifts with others, to live from your heart. That is what brings abundance, joy, adventure and love."
We also talk about her pathway from engineering to book publishing and the incredible value of each of our stories. Everyone is on their own journey and may not think their story is compelling or unique or worth sharing. However, when we share stories, we give others a glimpse of inspiration. We plant a seed. You don’t have to know the outcome all the time - just keep following what is in your heart and that is what will lead you to living and creating all that you love. It can be challenging to stick to your path and not be distracted by all the noise, conditioning and beliefs. But we ONLY get this one life and it’s ours to live it our way.

Everything Can be Infinitely Better with Kindness
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Leaders are all around us with extraordinary heart and soul and Jade Hughes, our guest this episode is a sensational gift to us all.
A young mum who balances multiple roles and responsibilities, Jade knows how challenging it can be to thrive in different areas of life and she shares some of her practical advice and inspiration with me as we talk about resiliency, a deep desire to learn, and how 'kindness' is a core value and pillar of the way she wants to show up daily.
Jade founded the Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation of Australia (NFP) in honour of her beautiful mum who was diagnosed with GBS when Jade was 1 year old and her advocacy for those affected today 'sparks the fire" in her. Coming to Australia at 22 years of age was a huge move, starting afresh with a mindset that didn't focus on limiting beliefs but on kindness - "there is good in us and it's good for us!"
Listen in as we hope you enjoy this energising and poignant conversation about leading self to lead others, seeking out mentors and the right people to surround yourself with and nourishing your curiosity and desire to learn and live more each day.

Healing Your Workplace
Tuesday Jun 06, 2023
Tuesday Jun 06, 2023
This is the second conversation Kerry and I have had which I thought was too important not to have! Why you ask?
Kerry's new best seller is right 'on the money' as it looks deeply into 'How To Heal A Workplace' and is backed up with current post covid research that showcases that 80% of workplaces have a toxic culture.
We discuss many things but most importantly, Kerry references women who are experiencing burnout at higher rates than men, identified from their challenges in being able to speak up. Kerry uses many examples of her work case studies to show that burnout can be used to great effect as it makes women better people leaders. Love the above the line thinking!
Listen in as we talk differences in generational communication, lack of soultion focused problem solving, expanding our self awareness skills and being more open to 'difference and diversity'. "When we understand ourselves as a system, we can self actualise and do things to assist ourself. Understanding what is a 'normal response' and what is a 'perception of threat' can move us from feeling that everything is 'black and white' to 'a rainbow' of options and strategies.
Curious to know what insights you gaines from our passionate conversation!

Would you believe I have two brilliant gals as our guests in this episode of Thriving Matters, Angela and Cristina! I have recently met both these gals face to face in Sydney which was incredible. So of course I booked them up for a double header - I hope you enjoy!
Working together is an absolute joy for these two as they have created the lifestyle and workstyle that gives them meaning and freedom. I asked the girls to give us some background to how they came together to do what they are doing now. Would you believe they were best friends before they became co-founders!
So listen in as we chat about how they have found a way to work together, structured a model that suits them and how they are able to thrive in life and work. Their secret sauce is all about people! Covid gave them an opportunity to try something new - honesty, trust and having fun working together.
We talked about the anchors or drivers of family and relationships, how their self awareness assisted in re aligning daily with their values, goals and purpose.
A daily question the girls ask - Why do you decide to do the job you do? You will be interested in what Cristina and Angela are reading as well - an eclectic selection with laughter! You won't be disappointed with the "Ignite Your Offer" gift we featured.

Listen in to these insightful gems - all about THRIVING in life and work - and I bet you'll be tempted to reflect on your own story as well.
Nikki expands her ideas, by listening to her intuition and then protects them to take away the pressure with gratitude and collaborative practices. Love Nikki's 'thriving' trust in herself and those she works alongside:
1. Understanding how our brains are easily influenced to turn to the negatives, so
sharing the importance to concentrate on the path ahead. Keeping your aim on the target.
2. Trust your intuition and know you can change course any time. Sometimes we
have to slow down, swerve, or even take a complete turn. Read the signs, always
be aware of your environment.
3. Collaboration is the most important thing to take note of and most of all
understand that collaboration has many definitions.
