Inspiring performance is about facilitating high performance in others through problem solving, promoting, recognising and supporting others contribution and work.
You can inspire performance by using some self coaching, questions, seeking out a mentor, allocating time and effort into self and other development, seeking and giving useful feedback and participating in learning opportunities. You can ask your colleague friend client ‘How can you better support them?’ Think about how you can ensure that they feel valued cared for and respected. After your feedback session asked, ‘What's your view on this?’ before you jump in and give them your feedback.
